Placenta Encapsulation

The placenta is an amazing organ that is treated with reverence among many cultures around the world. In Chinese medicine, placenta medicine is called Zi He Che. Full of Qi (life force), the placenta aids in the recovery from childbirth, restoring lost hormones, preventing mood jags, and ultimately helping mothers in this vital time of bonding and nurturance. Consumption of encapsulated placenta gives mothers the gift of natures healing powers.

Taking the placenta as a powder is an ancient custom. Remedies of placenta powder have been well-known for centuries. As a source of rich nutrients, the placenta was considered a gift from the baby by many cultures. Across the globe, the placenta has been used medicinally throughout history – from hormone replacement to the treatment of skin conditions. The placenta is full of natural oxytocins which are responsible for contracting the uterus, returning it to its original size, and minimizing postpartum bleeding. It is also attributed to preventing depression and enhancing the mother’s milk supply. Placenta remedies contain both estrogen and progesterone in their biological concentration produced by the human body itself.

The encapsulation process involves preparing the placenta, steaming, dehydrating, grinding, and then encapsulating it (in gelatin-free/vegetarian capsules). If you are interested in this service, please contact me before your due date. There is some information I'll need, and I'll want to confirm my availability for you (and, of course, answer any of your questions). Then, once the baby is born, place the placenta in the fridge and simply give me a call. It's ideal to encapsulate the placenta within the first 48 - 72 hours after the birth.

As the saying goes, "From the mother to the baby, joy crosses the placenta," and now that placenta joy can be returned to nourish the mother's body and soul.
